I get what you mean. like if you listen to just one line of a hiphop song, you wouldn't determine if it's akon, usher, r. kelly or atozzio... but each of them have their own nuances.

I am not inclined to agree that they all sound the same. For one Akon's voice is cartoonish, while Ne Yo and Usher and Atozzio really have great voices...

While I agree that they don't sound exactly the same, you have to admit that there are genres that lend to the same sound... Atozzio for one has this falsetto kind of voice that's reminiscent of neyo and usher...
